Registered Dental Hygiene Scholarship Award
Cricket Lane Dental wants to promote the great opportunity that the career of dental hygiene offers.
Dental hygienists are healthcare professionals. They take dental x-rays, photographs and examine the mouth, head and neck to detect oral disease. Hygienists clean teeth around the gum line (prophylaxis) or below the gum line (scaling and root planing). Hygienists can even give local anesthetic to numb patients. Hygienists are responsible for disinfection and sterilization. Dental hygiene is a service industry and is best for people who want to work directly with patients.
